The United States Department of War has announced the signing of two framework agreements with major defence contractors General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin. The seven-year procurement contracts are designed to increase production quantities and accelerate delivery schedules for critical missile subcomponents.

According to the announcement, the strategic move is aimed at tripling the production of Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missiles and quadrupling the output of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) systems. These systems are central to the United States' air and missile defence infrastructure and are also utilized by various international allies, including several European nations.

By establishing these long-term agreements, the US government seeks to stabilize the supply chain for key defence technologies. The increased production capacity is intended to address growing global security demands and ensure the timely delivery of advanced defense systems to partner nations.
