The Partit Nazzjonalista has expressed concern over what it described as court observations about an error in calculating the sentence requested by the Attorney General’s Office. It called for concrete measures to prevent such shortcomings.
In a statement signed by Joe Giglio, Shadow Minister for Justice, Research and Innovation, the PN said the case renewed concerns about prosecution shortcomings that, according to the party, had emerged over recent years.
“Errors have serious consequences: they can deprive victims of justice and can force people to face proceedings that should not have been brought against them,” the PN said. The party added that everyone has a right to a correct prosecution and a fair trial, and that victims deserve full justice.
