Youths from various organisations and entities took part in TerraMar, an activity organised by Aġenzija Żgħażagħ at the Argotti Botanical Gardens. According to the Ministry for Youth, Wellbeing and the Implementation of the Electoral Programme, the activity aimed to bring young people closer to nature while strengthening their wellbeing.

Participating organisations shared their work in environmental protection, marine conservation, sustainable mobility, youth participation, education and community development. The ministry said youths explored opportunities to participate in their communities and other European countries. Eurodesk, an information network for youth, supported the activity.

Minister Omar Farrugia visited the activity and met participants to hear about their experiences and organisations’ work. He described TerraMar as one of the initiatives taking place this month as part of the Youth Wellbeing Festival, saying: “We look forward to continuing to strengthen this participation”.

The Head of the Youth Empowerment Unit, Maria Borg, said participants could meet organisations active in Malta and discover their environmental and marine work. Organisers said they hoped to encourage nature protection, waste reduction, sustainable transport and volunteering. Aġenzija Żgħażagħ has further Youth Wellbeing Festival activities planned in the coming weeks.
