Lejla fil-Park returned for its fifth edition at Park ta' San Klement in Ħaż-Żabbar, launching Malta’s Sustainable Development Action Days 2026. Organised by the Sustainable Development Directorate, the event included sports demonstrations, children’s activities, environmental awareness initiatives and information stands.

Minister for Energy, the Environment and the Regeneration of the Grand Harbour Miriam Dalli said: “Lejla fil-Park continues to demonstrate how sustainability can be brought closer to the community through enjoyable and inclusive activities.” Families, voluntary organisations, sports associations, government entities and members of the public attended, according to the ministry.

Director General for Sustainable Development Francine Pace Caruana said initiatives such as Lejla fil-Park helped raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals and encourage public participation. She said the event reflected the Action Days’ theme, “From Ideas to Impact”, by showing how communities, organisations and individuals could translate ideas into action.

Malta’s Sustainable Development Action Days 2026 forms part of European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW). Running between 18 September and 8 October 2026, the initiative showcases actions by government entities, NGOs, businesses, local councils, educational institutions and community groups across Malta and Gozo, the ministry said.
